For destroying the orphix, bastion mode is 100% the way to go (there are 2 main bastion build strategies, max damage or max rate of fire, I went with max damage for the longest time which was a mistake, rate of fire is better.) Orphix missions are probably the hardest (non-fringe) thing to solo in the game tbh. I'd bite the bullet and just find some peeps to do it with, especially if you don't have a pimped out mech.
